What is required of my Division?

IFA has already helped many Divisions through this process so we know it well. Working with your State Based Organisation (SBO) and the Divisions network we’ll be on hand to guide you each step of the way. These are the key activities or steps involved:

let us know you’re interested by returning the EOI form
we’ll work with you to build awareness of the Program within you area
we’ll agree on a recruitment target for your Division which will be based on 22% relative distribution for your state
we’ll work together to finalise your participating practice numbers based on local and wave demand
your Division would then provide support to participating practices through the state wave(s)
after the state wave, your Division would conduct a local wave (subject to local conditions such as geography)
your Division will also be required to complete monthly and wave based reporting. These reports are template based and relate to practice performance in the Program.

Initially, you’ll promote the Australian Primary Care Collaboratives (APCC) Program within your Division, recruiting and supporting practices participating in State, Local, and Virtual Waves. IFA will work with you to set recruitment targets for your Division. For more info on recruitment click here

Once practices have been recruited and the first Wave starts, you’ll provide a range of Program support functions to practices participating in the 18-month program. This includes coaching and motivating practices to apply and use the Program’s Model for Improvement and other Quality Improvement techniques. IFA will provide full training and support to your staff prior to the first Wave to enable them to provide Program support to your practices. For more info on training and support click here

In most cases, about 50% of the recruited practices in your area will participate in state based learning workshop waves. Following the state waves, your Division can then promote and hold your own local workshop series. IFA will assist you with the planning and implementation of a local Program and we will provide the funding for the agreed operational costs associated with the Workshops. When delivering the Program locally, you may choose to partner with other Divisions in your area (i.e. to save costs or increase numbers).

Some participants may find it difficult to allocate even short periods of time to leave the practice for workshops or may be located in geographically dispersed area. These practices may prefer to participate in virtual learning workshops where the Program is delivered via teleconferencing, videoconferencing, and on-line.
