NSW, QLD, ACT
Phase 2, Wave 1 - Learning Workshop 1
Sydney, 20th & 21st June 2008
The first NSW, QLD & ACT learning workshop was held at the Four Points by Sheraton on 20th and 21st June 2008. The event attracted over 240 participants from
general practice, representatives from Divisions, and other related fields from across NSW, QLD & ACT.
Plenary guest speakers included Dr David Richardson (NSW Clinical Chair), Dr Tony Lembke (APCC Clinical Director), Dr Dale Ford (IFA Principal Clinical Advisor), Dr Ralph Audhem (Chair, Diabetes Expert Reference Panel), Dr Andrew Knight (Chair, Access and Care Redesign Expert Reference Panel) and Hugh Kearns (Head, Staff Development & Training Unit, Flinders University).
Other speakers included GPs, practice nurses and
practice managers who were invited from around Australia to present learning sessions using
their personal and professional experiences in promoting positive outcomes in primary health
care.
The 2 day Workshop generated a sense of excitement and eagerness amongst delegates to commence
reporting, devise PDSAs (Plan, Do Study, Act cycles) and confidently take back to their
practices many positive ideas for improvement.
