Phase 2, Wave 1 - Learning Workshop 2
Sydney, 12 & 13 September 2008

The second NSW, QLD & ACT learning workshop was held at the Four Points by Sheraton on 12th and 13th September 2008. The event hosted over 240 participants from general practice, representatives from Divisions, and other related fields from across NSW, QLD & ACT.

Plenary guest speakers included Dr David Richardson (NSW Clinical Chair), Dr Tony Lembke (APCC Clinical Director), Dr Dale Ford (IFA Principal Clinical Advisor), Dr Ralph Audhem (Chair, Diabetes Expert Reference Panel), Dr Andrew Knight (Chair, Access and Care Redesign Expert Reference Panel), Dr Jennifer Johns (Medical Director, Specialty Services CSU, Austin Health), Dr Lynne Davies (APCC CHD Expert Reference Panel) and Professor James Best (Head, School of Medicine, University of Melbourne)

Other speakers included GPs, practice nurses and practice managers who were invited from around Australia to present learning sessions using their personal and professional experiences in promoting positive outcomes in primary health care.

Learning workshop 2 built on the foundation knowledge gained at learning workshop and the work undertaken by participating practices during the first activity period. It was evident through the sharing of practices' stories that there are many good improvements being made and many more planned!
